Martian Menace

The year is 2304 as a pilot of the United Earth Space Force you are tasked to hunt down terrorists to assure safety and stability in the Solar System.

This game was made for the GB-Jam 11 by Chaz O. (Composer) and Aelexaender (Programmer and Visual Artist)

If you are having performance issues inside the web page, consider downloading the MartianMenace.exe it should run way better on your local computer.

The goal of the game is to shoot down as many of the enemies as possible and survive as long as possible. Your shield regenerates after being damaged but your ship's health itself doesn't. Also don't fly into the asteroids that's going to hurt, a lot.

Instructions:

Game Boy Keys Legend:

(Controller Support is untested and might not work)

W/A/S/D Up/Left/Down/Right = D-Pad

Shift or  J = A-Button

Space or K = B-Button

Tab = Select Button

- D-Pad Up/Down are used to accelerate and deaccelerate the ship

(If you double Press D-Pad Up or D-Pad Down you break and come to a full stop)

- D-Pad Left/Right are used to steer the ship

- A-Button are used to change the current target

- Holding the A-Button is used to change the targeting mode (Switch from aiming at asteroids to aiming at enemy ships to aiming at nothing)

At the start of the game, you will have to hold the A-Button to start targeting

- B-Button is used to shoot

- Select Button opens the cockpit

Inside the cockpit, you can change how much of your ship's energy is assigned to your shields or your weapons system. Depending on that you either, can take more damage and regenerate your shield faster or deal more damage. You change the values with the D-Pad Left/Right Input. The further to right the respective slider is the more energy is assigned to the system.
